Founding Product Designer ・ 7 years (2015-2022)

Conceptualized, created and launched the design system and all user experience in a rapid 7 month timeframe for Pokémon GO’s record-breaking launch
Defined Niantic’s new genre-standard interaction methodologies for all forthcoming location-based mobile apps and games. Maintained style consistency throughout company growth.
Owned dozens of features and drove collaboration with cross-functional teams to generate product concepts, prototypes and implementation of high-fidelity designs for Pokémon GO. Noteworthy examples include: 
Onboarding: Retained 232 million active players at launch
Catch: Designed the AR camera interface that incited a viral social media craze
Shop: Responsible for $207 million in the first month and +6 billion in revenue to date
Battle: Enabled real-time player competition in AR
GoFest 2020: Launched during the pandemic as the first remote version of the game
PokeStops: Motivated players to explore outside at real-world locations, contributing to over 23 billion kilometers cumulatively walked in first 3 years
Initiated meetings with key stakeholders to address potential product hurdles and how to accommodate both user and business needs
Oversaw platform partnerships with 3rd party developers in order to maintain a familiar user experience of Niantic products from conception to launch
Mentored junior designers and fostered an open learning environment of shared knowledge and best practices that founded the design team
