Niantic Campfire

To assist with the launch, I created designs for Campfire, Niantic’s new social platform. The product goal was to enable users to communicate and organize meetups via one proprietary app that integrated seamlessly across the suite of Niantic products. The lead UX designer was Yvonne Ko, who had already made a design language for the product. I was called in to assist on the onboarding, verification and notification flows.

Prototypes

Below are the flows I created for Campfire.

Direct Message to Sign Up

Context: An existing Campfire user invites a friend via a push notification through the app they both use. The friend has not used Campfire prior.

Onboarding: Verifying Your Mobile Number

Context: During new user onboarding, the user must verify their mobile number they intend to use with the application.

Settings: Verifying a New Mobile Number

Context: In Settings, a user can verify a new mobile number to use with the application.

Send a Direct Message from a Niantic App

Context: A user can send a message from a Niantic app using Campfire
